Scar-tography is a new series that explores the stories and histories of women. It examines scars that these women feel are defining moments in their identity. This is an on-going series where I am working with women to scan their scars and collect word poems that define their experience. These scans and words are put through a series of scanography and glitch sequencing referencing the way that women have been defined by their perceived imperfections throughout history. This work serves to elevate and celebrate those "flaws".
